The hours are Monday through Friday, while school is in session, from 9:00a.m. until 1:00p.m. Duties include: help prepare and serve the lunch to our school children, help stock items (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.), and clean tables, surfaces, counters, and chairs. Please contact the school office at 309-367-2528 if interested or need more information.
Summer is Coming – Save the Dates
This year’s Metamora Old Settlers Days activities will occur from June 24-27. St. Mary’s provides the main food tent on the square during Old Settlers, and we need all hands-on deck to make it happen. This fundraiser brings in about $23k each year for our school and highlights the importance of St. Mary’s in the Metamora Community.
We will need help from Tuesday evening the 23rd for setup all the way till the end, late Saturday, June 27th. Please mark these dates down on your calendars and plan to help out. As a general guideline, we look for each family to pick up several shifts. We have over 300 spots to fill!
We are also looking for a few new shift leaders this year. It really is a great way to meet new people. Sign-ups will be coming out soon. Grab the family calendar and circle the dates, June 24-27!! Any questions or to raise your hand and step up, reach out to Laura Tobben (309-256-8381).
Congratulations to our 4 students who participated in the Bishop O’Rourke Speech Tournament!
Each of them was awarded 1ST PLACE! WAY TO GO Sam, Reagan, Sarah & Vivian! Thank you to Lisa Obery for taking on the role of getting these students ready for the competition.
2025-2026 Yearbooks! DEADLINE TO ORDER IS MAY 15!
Please see the attached order form. The cost is $25.00 each. Your student will also be bringing home an order form. You can complete and return either one to order.
There’s still time to share pictures you may have taken over the school year. Please email them to Brooke Miller at brookebernitt@yahoo.com or text them to 309-370-4525.
A Note from Miss Sue – New Cafeteria Item:
Meet the STM Chicken Bowl – Where comfort meets cafeteria glory!
Think of it as the heavenly cousin of a classic chicken bowl… but with a little extra school spirit and a whole lot of heart.
Crispy, golden chicken nestled on a warm bed of creamy mashed potatoes, topped with savory gravy that brings everything together like the perfect homeroom. Add a sprinkle of corn for a pop of sweetness and color, and you’ve got a bowl that’s as satisfying as the last bell on a Friday.
The STM Chicken Bowl isn’t just lunch – it’s a blessing in a bowl. Made to fuel minds, fill stomachs, and maybe even spark a little cafeteria envy. Come hungry. Leave grateful.

AHG Announcement
Just a reminder that our next meeting will be April 13th due to Spring Break. We will be finishing up the Our Flag badge and our Joining Award requirements!
Explorer parents: Please have your daughter bring in her final Our Flag activity to complete her badge. They only need to present one item from the list that is NOT the military funeral requirement. We will be doing that one at our April meeting.
We will be having an awards ceremony to finish our first year in May. More details to come.
Please be on the lookout for our End of the Year survey in the coming weeks. We would like everyone’s opinion to help us plan a great year for the 2026-2027 school year.
